Day 1
Depart at night from the chosen city in the direction of the picturesque Danube River capital of Austria – Vienna, a city full of elegance, monumental buildings and romantic backstreets.
The first point will be Kahlenberg Hill and the neighboring Leopoldsberg – both places offer impressive views of the Vienna skyline.
Next, we will take a guided walk through the historic center of the city – we will see the Baroque palace and park complex Belvedere, Charles Square with St. Charles Borromeo Church, the former seat of the emperors Hofburg, the representative Maria Theresia Square and the Gothic Town Hall, among others.
Also on the route will be Stallburg, the Trinity Column and the Mozart House, where one of the most famous composers in history lived.
In the evening, accommodation in a comfortable hotel in Vienna and dinner at a restaurant.
Day 2
After breakfast, we’ll head to the impressive Schönbrunn Palace, the former summer residence of the Habsburgs, a UNESCO-listed site. During the tour we will learn about the imperial chambers, the history of Empress Sissi, and stroll through the beautiful gardens with the Neptune Fountain and Glorietta. We will also visit Europe’s largest Palm House.
Another highlight will be the modern and interactive Natural History Museum, which delights both children and adults.
In the afternoon, it is possible to choose one of the additional attractions: relaxing in the Prater amusement park with its queues and Ferris wheel; visiting the MUMOK, a museum of modern art; climbing the South Tower of St. Stephen’s Cathedral with a beautiful view of the city; or visiting a local vineyard combined with a tasting of regional wines (details available from the travel agency).
In the evening, return to the hotel and have dinner together.
Day 3
After breakfast, depart for Hinterbrühl, where we will visit Seegrotte, an underground lake with an extraordinary atmosphere, on which we will travel by boat, admiring the illuminated corridors and mysterious interiors of a former gypsum mine.
Depending on conditions, we’ll visit Lichtenstein Castle on the outskirts of Vienna or head to the picturesque town of Mödling, where the Black Tower lookout offers panoramic views of the surrounding hills.
In the afternoon we will drive to Bratislava, the charming capital of Slovakia. During the walk we will see the monumental Bratislava Castle, the medieval Old Town, the Gothic St. Martin’s Cathedral, the historic Town Hall and the famous Michal Gate.
At night departure for the return journey and the end of the tour.
