Day 1
Join us for a unique journey in the footsteps of the ancient amber route all the way to the legendary land of white wines – Tokaj. Although the region immediately impresses with its diverse landscape, its true beauty is only discovered up close: UNESCO-listed cellars full of aromatic wines, peaceful villages and vibrant Hungarian traditions.
In the heart of the region – in Sárospatak, known as the “Athens on the Bodrog” – we will visit the majestic Rakoczy Castle, take a look at the church with the relics of St. Nicholas. We will also see modern architecture by Imre Makovecz.
After this historical feast, it’s time to relax – we’ll head to the modern Ellipsum pool complex in Miskolc. Awaiting us there are, among others. 6 indoor pools, an outdoor pool with a water temperature of 36-38°C, 3 slides (including a pontoon slide), a rapid river, a Jacuzzi and numerous water attractions. Please bring your swimsuits!
We will end the day with an atmospheric visit to an original Tokaj cellar. Walk among barrels full of maturing wine, tales of the famous “puton,” followed by a tasting of 4 types of local wines in a pleasant, authentic atmosphere. After completion, possible purchase of bottled wines.
